"The choices we make in life define who we are and what we become. MDC explores the various experiences that we sometimes go through in our pursuit of our self-identity. In the end, we live because we choose. And we choose to DANCE."

Hey everyone,
It has been two weeks of school so far, hope that those of you who are reading this have well-adjusted back to school and that you all are getting used to your new timetable and perhaps, new teachers. Haha.

Well, since Open House has ended, our focus now is on CCA Exhibition, whereby the new J1s will be brought around school to check out the different CCAs, which will be pretty interesting for them, especially for those who were not from a performing-arts CCA last time and may want to try out a performing-art CCA this time so we must do our best to provide information to them regarding MDC and perform well on stage because their eyes will be on us :D

The past two dance trainings were generally spent on getting used to the choreo meant for CCA exhibition and on Tuesday, our SYF instructor came down to watch us practise the CCA exhibition choreo. Three days later, we started our first SYF training with our SYF instructor and I think it was a nice yet challenging experience for us. Well, it was challenging for me, I was having so much difficulty catching up and getting so confused with my two feet and my sense of direction T.T

For starters, she made us do a sequence which she said was contemporary-ish and she told us that the floor needs to be our "good friend" so since it's the pre-SYF season, I thought that maybe I would put this video here and have you all watch it :)
Haha, it's a contemporary item to the song Fix You on SYTYCD.

The reason why I picked this video is not just because it's a contemporary item but because one part of it, the lady just fell backward and have the guy catch her and this falling and catching thing is based on a lot of trust. Our SYF instructor also made us do some partner thing, whereby we had to have eye connection with someone and then walk to them and lean on them, trusting that they will stretch out their arms to support us and pick us up. I personally enjoyed that part HAHA, because it was fun to get into the emotional mood and it was easier than the technical part which I was struggling so badly with the entire while.

Anyway, cheers to the next session of dance! :)
Yours,Anne-marie
