"The choices we make in life define who we are and what we become. MDC explores the various experiences that we sometimes go through in our pursuit of our self-identity. In the end, we live because we choose. And we choose to DANCE."

MDC J1 Orientation Camp is over ):
Wednesday, March 6, 2013 12:13 AM
Aww, after having such a blast over the weekend, we're now back to school.
Did everyone have a good rest after camp on Sunday? (:
Anyway, for the alumni who couldn't join us because of exams, this post will be about how the camp went and for the J1s who could not join us for camp,  maybe after seeing this post and some of the photos, you all may look forward in participating in more cca-based activities that MDC has to offer :)

Here's the link to the photos that were taken during the camp:

Camp started a day earlier for the people in the planning committee as we started to put up the deco for the camp and settle some admin and organisation-related matters. We were blessed with the help of some J2s who were not in the planning committee but still came back to help us. Indeed, it was quite fun planning and preparing the camp for our juniors together. Of course, not forgetting our beloved alumni who made up the fright night team and who were station masters too :) I'm sure some of the J1s were quite freaked by the people in the fright night team right (; hehe.

Saturday came pretty fast and we started welcoming the J1s in at about 12 noon-ish.
Our theme was Midday Dance Circus (which initials are also MDC , see what we did there ^^ ) and so we split the J1s up into the various groups - Illusionists, Gymnasts, Beast Masters and Gypsies.
And each group has their own mentor, who was dressed in the costume of what their group name is :)
Each group also had to come up with their own cheer and their own identity using the coloured cloths that we provided them with and Gymnasts won this cheer component :D

Day Games included Running man, picturesque, huff and puff and balloon war. We wanted to play Water Captain's Ball, which was a game that many in the '12 batch regarded as fun, but our plans for that game were ruined when the sky decided to rain ): Hopefully we would get to play that another time. Not the entire afternoon was spent on games though, after all, with us being a dance cca, some dancing was necessary and so we taught the J1s the Funhouse choreo (: And on a side note, it was pretty apt to teach them the Funhouse choreo since the theme was Circus. And besides, inside the song is a line " But now it's full of evil clowns~ " , those lyrics served as a preview to the J1s on what to expect at night (; muahaha. Which was as what some of the J1s had guessed in the late afternoon, that the night would be scary.

It was a fun night overall, fun for the people who made up the fright team and also thrilling for both the group leaders as well as the J1s :) Hope that the J1s enjoyed the different stations during the fright night :D The night was concluded with an introduction of the alumni to the J1s, a lil bit of harlem shake(which video can be found on Youtube) and SUPPER.

Special thanks to Carlyn who took the videos for us and uploaded on Youtube..
