"The choices we make in life define who we are and what we become. MDC explores the various experiences that we sometimes go through in our pursuit of our self-identity. In the end, we live because we choose. And we choose to DANCE."

LYRICAL~

Hey all!
We all know what genre of dance video is left and that's LYRICAL! I must admit that I don't really have a good eye for lyrical, contemporary or modern dance. (I don't quite know the difference between them!) The boundaries between the style are quite blurry so I'll begin by trying to give a small distinction between the three. Lyrical, obviously as derived from the name, is a dance style that follows closely to the lyrics of the song. The dance style is mostly ballet and jazz. Modern dance, on the other hand, consists of natural movements, such as skipping, running, jumping, leaping and tossing, inspired by folk dances, social dances and classical Greek arts. In simple terms, Modern dance is more classical and is constantly changing. Contemporary is a blend of classical ballet, jazz and modern dance styles.

If I'm not wrong, these four videos are of lyrical dance style. So sit back and enjoy!

And of course, if you would like to watch more contemporary pieces, you can watch So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) videos off YouTube. Mollee's audition is quite nice. You can also watch the more famous performances such as Fix You, Jar Of Hearts and Hallulejah. They are brilliant pieces. Enjoy!
